I love the poetic choices the author made with the pictures - I wonder if the author and illustrator were one and the same, they seem so well-matched

I do think these would make wonderful needlepoint patterns...feel free to copy any of them for that purpose if you like - cause, it's crafting season now.

I think it is a good idea to confront very young children with the best art you can get.
You come across these forgotten artists...It' s impressive when this degree of art goes into something so ephemeral.
